A new record! 12 shortlist appearances for BNU in the Student Nursing Times Awards 2024

Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) is thrilled to be shortlisted 12 times in the Student Nursing Times Awards 2024, a new record for the University.

Across nine categories, BNU students, staff and the sector-leading work taking place across the School of Nursing and Midwifery have all been recognised.

We are also thrilled to have been shortlisted in ‘Student Midwife of the Year’ for the first time, having only introduced the programme in 2021.

Professor Karen Buckwell-Nutt, Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience) and Director of the Institute of Health and Social Care said:

“I’m thrilled and so proud of our students, staff and the work being done across the School of Nursing and Midwifery and in the Apprenticeship Hub. It is no mean feat to be shortlisted for these prestigious awards, which are the largest student and nurse educator awards in the sector. This recognition across both our undergraduate and apprenticeship provision is testament to our fantastic students and learners, and the tireless efforts of our staff.”

Steve Ford, editor of Nursing Times, said: “The Nursing Times Awards showcase the innovation and best practice of nurses and midwives across the UK, providing an opportunity to celebrate and share all that is good about the nursing profession.”
