Reading Lists
Use our Digital Reading Lists system to access your essential and recommended texts and resources for your course. You can search by subject, tutor name or module number and easily locate where the material is or link to electronic resources.

Your loans, fines and printing
All students can check what loans they have taken out as well as any fines that have incurred. Our printing service is available to all students, you can top-up your printing credits online and print from any of our libraries.

Suggest a book
If there is a book you think we should have or have more copies of, please let us know. Tell us the details of the item and why you think we should have it. We buy all books as ebooks where possible, these are normally available a few days after ordering whereas print books take longer to become available. You will be alerted when the book you requested is available for you to use.

Buckinghamshire New University is a member of SCONUL Access. This is a scheme which offers library users the opportunity to borrow or use books and journals for reference at other university libraries which belong to the scheme (most university libraries in the UK and Ireland).
To apply for SCONUL access please click the blue link below. There is no need to complete multiple applications if you want to use more than one library. Your application will cover all higher education libraries participating in the SCONUL scheme that you are entitled to use.
Once your application has been received by the SCONUL Access Team, your library account will be checked. Provided you have a valid course date and your library account is clear of fines and overdue books you will receive an email from us accepting you on the scheme. Please allow 5 working days for your application to be processed.
Before visiting with your chosen university library, check their website for registration opening hours and other conditions. Remember to take your BNU New University ID card and a copy of your approval email with you.

Wi-Fi and Computer Access
SCONUL Access users qualify as “walk-in users” so computer access may be possible. However, due to the licencing restrictions of each university not all resources will be available to external users. In addition, the host university will have its own policies on who can or cannot access its networks for obvious security reasons. Please check the host library’s website or contact them in advance of your visit if you wish to use their electronic resources.
If the host university is a member of Eduroam, you will be able to connect to their Wi-Fi using your Buckinghamshire New University email address (12345678@bucks.ac.uk) and Blackboard password.
