CPD financial support
Covering the costs of your professional development may now be easier than you think. There are several ways you can fund postgraduate and professional courses here at Buckinghamshire New University.
Employer/NHS sponsorship
Your employer may be happy to sponsor studies that are relevant to your role, or to the sector you work in. Many students have found financial support for their postgraduate studies this way.
Professional and career development loans
A professional and career development loan is a commercial bank loan available to EU and UK students to help cover the costs of work-related learning. To find out more, visit the funding for postgraduate study section at gov.uk or contact the National Careers Service on 0800 100 900.
For more about financial assistance to support your learning, visit our postgraduate funding pages.
Student finance
If you’re studying one of our professional courses at undergraduate level, and haven’t already had a loan from Student Finance England, you may be eligible for a tuition fee loan to cover your course fees. To find out more, see our Undergraduate financial support section..
Postgraduate loan scheme
The UK Government’s Postgraduate Master’s Loan scheme allows eligible students to apply for up to £11,222 to help cover the cost of studying. You can find out more on our postgraduate funding page.
Those taking PGCert/PGDip qualifications are not currently eligible for this loan. You must meet several residency and other criteria before applying.

The BNU Hardship Fund (BHF) provides discretionary financial assistance for students to help them access and remain in higher education. It is particularly aimed for those students who need financial help to meet specific course and living costs that cannot be met from other sources of support.
