Mario Rui Oliveira Dos Santos

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University, I accumulated over a decade of experience as an IT, Computing, Digital Creative Media, and Computer Games Lecturer across various educational levels. My journey in the tech world began with quality and language testing for popular video games from a major tech company and creating websites for businesses.

In my teaching career, I've taken on leadership roles, overseeing curriculum development and delivery. My efforts have resulted in high levels of student engagement, retention, and achievement. As a curriculum designer, I've developed and implemented new academic programmes, incorporating cutting-edge technologies in areas like Mobile App Design, Human-Computer Interaction, 3D Modeling/Printing, and Computer Games.

My expertise has allowed me to collaborate with various talented individuals and organisations on exciting projects. One such project involved working with a famous cinematographer on a video commercial challenge, which resulted in my students producing an award-winning film. In another instance, I worked with a tech company to support young students in creating an award-winning mobile app for a local council. My dedication to teaching and building strong relationships with colleagues and students have been recognized, as I was once awarded "Teacher of the Year."

As a games tester for a leading tech company, I gained invaluable insights into the gaming industry, which I've been able to integrate into my teaching, further enriching the learning experience for my students.
