Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2022, I was a Community Practice Teacher and Specialist Community Practitioner-Community Children Nurse working in Berkshire. I am a member of the RCN and registered with the NMC as a RGN, RSCN, and SPQ.

In my desire to develop my nursing knowledge and skills, it has led me to work in acute teaching NHS Trust hospitals in London and Oxford, such as John Radcliffe hospital, Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital and King’s College Hospital.

I have tremendous experience working in partnership with health, education, and social care professionals in providing safe and effective care for families on the ward and in the home. I have been involved in many upskilling and teaching sessions to improve the quality of care and influencing policy changes. My specialist area of research is reflective practice and evidence-based learning in health education. It is interesting because adult learners develop more understanding through reflecting on their learning opportunities in practice. I am a trained paediatric intensive care nurse and trained community nurse prescriber, and I would like to further my studies in health informatics to explore a more efficient nursing practice.

My greatest achievement to date is fulfilling my dream career as a full-time lecturer in the University because I have always been committed to students in practice. I am very thankful for this academic opportunity to be part of nursing education and to share my nursing expertise with future nurses.
