Security and Resilience

Security and Resilience

Times are changing, threats are ever-developing and this sector requires graduates with the confidence and up-to-date capabilities to thrive. To meet the growing demand for academic qualifications in security and related subjects, Buckinghamshire New University has developed a wide portfolio of programmes and courses.

Drawing upon a wide range of academics, industry and sector specialists, these courses allow students to orientate their learning towards the real-world issues facing their profession whilst retaining the appropriate level of academic rigour. We cover a variety of different areas, including security consultancy, organisational resilience and risk management.

Studying with us means you will learn with highly dedicated specialists who have been, or are still, security and resilience practitioners and have military and police backgrounds. In addition, guest speakers regularly deliver sessions for students within the University to help provide the immediacy and currency that are essential for education in a changing risk landscape.

Students are also supported with state-of-the-art facilities on campus. Our library is the perfect place to find the resources you need and a quiet place to study, filled with four floors of books, journals, computer suites and study rooms – resources are also available digitally through our Virtual Learning Environment.

The quality of teaching is great and having lecturers with different backgrounds enables us to learn about a wide range of opportunities after graduation. We also attend one-to-one tutorials frequently where we can bring up any concerns and receive advice on coursework.
