Sandra Walden

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2023, I was the In-House Module Lead in the Clinical Education Team at Wexham Park Hospital, Frimley Health Foundation Trust and have been a registered nurse for 40 years. 

I studied for my Enrolled Nurse registration at Hillingdon Hospital and then my conversion to Registered Nurse at Northampton University, followed by a Post Graduate Certificate in Education Thames Valley University and MA in Learning and Teaching at University of West London.  My specialist area of interest/research is education and wellbeing. It is interesting because I enjoy sharing my knowledge and skills and supporting others – I became Professional Nurse Advocate in 2023. 

I am a member of Nursing and Midwifery Council, Royal College of Nursing, FHEA. My specialist knowledge has led me to work with patients, nurses and allied health professionals. 

My greatest accolade to date/My career highlight is presenting the innovative work I was doing with interactive learning at an International Practice Development Collaboration conference in Sydney, Australia.
