Biography

I came to Buckinghamshire New University in 2008, having taught in Canada and the UK, as well as working as a researcher on e-learning projects for the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany.

I studied for my Masters in Education at Southampton University and my specialist area of interest/research is professional education. I find its relevance and diversity fascinating as professional education draws in so many issues that are relevant today: inclusivity, digital pedagogies, mental health and wellbeing, and driving organisational change through professional development.

I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and delighted to be more broadly involved in local education as a school governor at a secondary school.

My specialist knowledge has led me to work with local teacher training organisations such as Astra on projects such as Mentorship for Teachers. I have also consulted on online learning projects such as the Royal College of Nursing endorsed e-course on  the use of digital images in wound care, hosted by 3M Health Care Academy, a national platform for online learning.

One of my greatest achievements has been my contribution to the professional development of staff here at BNU, helping over 100 individuals receive professional accreditation from the Advance HE.
