I joined Buckinghamshire New University in 2014. Before becoming Course Leader of the Textile Design course in 2019, I worked as a Technical Tutor and Specialist Knit Technician both here and, prior to that, at Central Saint Martins.
I studied for my BA in Textile Design at Central Saint Martins where I specialised in knitted textiles and continued into this area of industry, working as an independent freelance knitwear designer. Since working in education my area of research has broadened to also encompass sustainability within textile design, and I am working towards creating an innovative sustainable material research library here at Bucks.
I hold a AFHEA and am currently working towards my FHEA.
My specialist knowledge has led me to work collaboratively with a number of designers –Grace Wales Bonner, Jigsaw, Lucas Nascimento and Anthony Symonds amongst others – developing knitted fabric for production. Producing knitwear for Grace Wales Bonner, a Loreal Professional Talent Award winner, has been a particular highlight.
