Nigel Moore

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2009, I was initially working in telecommunications but decided on a career change to sports management.  I then worked in a variety of roles within Squash England, The Football Association and Sport England, before setting myself up as a consultant providing management services to a wide range of sports organisations. I have also been a board member of Buckinghamshire County Sports Partnership (now known as LEAP) and remain a trustee of WheelPower (British Federation of Wheelchair Sport).

I studied for my BA (Hons) Economics and MSc Sport and Recreation Management at the Universities of York and Sheffield and my specialist area of interest is in strategic planning and development. These keys areas are interesting because they can set out exciting ambitions in a realistic manner and should provide the necessary rigour to ensure plans are realistic and can be effectively implemented.  But always challenging, as new opportunities always arise, making the work that much more fulfilling!

I am a member of HEA and have held memberships of CIMSPA, ISRM and ILAM.

My specialist knowledge has led me to work with many prominent people in football on projects such as international football development for FIFA and many of its constituent confederations, but also a grass roots level securing funding for local sports clubs.
