Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2023, I was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton, teaching and supporting students on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including apprenticeships and transnational students. Prior to beginning my career in higher education teaching in 2014, I was Co-ordinator of Youth and Community in the North West of Wolverhampton, leading the planning, development and delivery of free activities for children, young people and the community for 15 years.

I studied for my BA Business Management at the University of Wolverhampton and my MA in Industrial Relations and HR Management at Keele University. My areas of interest are inclusive practice and curriculum design and the strengths-based approach to teaching and learning.

I am a member of the Chartered Management Institute and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. My creation of the ‘Business of Inclusion’ workbook has led to the delivery of its content at the Advance HE Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Conference.

My career highlight to date has been being referred to as an ‘Academic Mother’ by my students.
