Dr Henry Morgan

Biography

I am a doctoral graduate of Cardiff University, where I taught and studied in both the School of Music and the School of Journalism, Media and Culture. I am a fellow of the HEA and have a performance background in both classical and popular music. My current research is focused on the role of digital platforms in contemporary music cultures, and particularly the articulation and maintenance of musical identities in online spaces.

I recently worked with Professors Clair Rowden and Richard Langham Smith on a large-scale project to examine and digitally represent the international history of Bizet’s opera Carmen. I have also presented my research on popular music cultures at various academic institutions including the University of Cambridge and the University of Chicago.

In addition to my work at Buckinghamshire New University I am currently a contributing lecturer at the University of Westminster and at Goldsmiths, University of London, where I teach on subjects including media and communications theory, audience research, online cultural aesthetics and digital entrepreneurship.
