Biography

I have been teaching and studying Psychology for 20 years. After gaining a BSc in Human Psychology in 2002, I went on to do a PGCE and have since had the privilege of working in a variety of different teaching roles including leadership, coaching, and wellbeing coordinator. Through this work I have gained British Psychological Society chartered status (teaching route). In 2020, I completed an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology here at BNU and since then, I have made it my mission to weave wellbeing education into my personal and professional life and have never looked back.

Along with being an Associate Lecturer on the MSc Applied Positive Psychology and MSc Mental Health and Wellbeing in Education programmes, I continue to teach Psychology A-Level, and run an educational consultancy business. This gives me the pleasure of delivering positive education training and workshops to schools and colleges, helping others to bring the science of learning and wellbeing to their school communities. I have a particular interest in the application of self-compassion within the education sector, exploring how it can be used to improve teacher and student resilience. I am also interested in the use of positive psychology coaching as a strategy for increasing student motivation and progress.
