I have been at Buckinghamshire New University since 2011, the year in which I graduated as a 1st class Psychology student at the university. Since then, I have worked as an Associate Lecturer as well as a Research Assistant at BNU.
I studied for my MSc in Evolutionary Psychology at Brunel University and completed my fully funded ESRC PhD in Psychology in 2024 at the University of Portsmouth. My PhD used large data to investigate the role of testosterone in human sexual behaviour.
My area of research/interest is broadly Evolutionary Psychology, which is a branch of psychology that examines human behaviour through the lens of evolution and evolutionary biology. More specifically, I am interested in human mating and mate choice, sexual behaviour, and attractiveness. Relatedly, I am also interested in biopsychology. I am currently involved in research projects related to the psychology of Wearables, motivations for cosmetic usage, and how expectations impact student outcomes.
I am a Chartered Psychologist (British Psychological Society), Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a member of the BPS.
My greatest accolade to date was presenting my PhD findings at the Human Behaviour and Evolution Society (HBES) in Denmark.
