Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2023, I was working as a clinical educator, specialising in both clinical and technical training for intra-operative nerve monitoring focusing on complex head and neck surgeries. Prior to this, I worked as a specialist nurse as well as a business development manager for a VTE market leading medical company.

I studied for my BSc in nursing here at Buckinghamshire New University and my specialist area of interest is the development, implementation and training of innovative medical devices. Research and development of new technologies can have such a positive impact on improving patient outcomes as well as greatly assisting our working day and the wider health service.

My specialist knowledge has led me to work with clients such as the Academic Health Science Network AHSN, G+N Medical, Magstim/Neurosign, Sky Medical Technology/Firstkind and Fundamental Surgery.

My career highlight is implementing and bringing Firstkind’s geko device to a first line VTE prophylaxis at Leeds Teaching Hospitals HASU together with contributions to Barnsley Hospital Obstetrics which led to a Bionow Award for Innovation in 2020.
