College of Health and Society
The College of Health and Society is committed to delivering our students with inclusive and immersive, hands-on training in simulated and real-world settings across clinical, educational, community, and social environments. Supported by placement opportunities and evidence-based practice, learners are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in a dynamic career.
Our courses champion the vital contribution graduates make to strengthen communities, health, wellbeing, and performance. We offer a diverse range of subjects, including Allied Health, Nursing and Midwifery, Health and Social Care, Education, Psychology, Criminology, Social Work, and Sport and Exercise Science.
Many of our programmes are accredited by leading regulatory bodies, including the Nursing & Midwifery Council, the Health & Care Professions Council, and the British Psychological Society reflecting the high professional standards valued by employers.
We are also proud to integrate the voices of Experts by Experience, individuals with lived experience or carers of those who have encountered physical or mental health challenges, cognitive or social needs, or involvement with public services, into our teaching and course development.
Our staff bring a wealth of industry knowledge, and we work in close partnership with NHS Trusts, healthcare providers, charities, and educational organisations to ensure our teaching remains relevant and responsive to the evolving needs of professional practice.
Our investment in purpose built facilities enables students to train in settings that replicate the real world. Facilities include psychology labs, mock hospital wards, operating theatres, fully-equipped ambulances and A&E set up, a working Sports Therapy Clinic and a Human Performance, Exercise and Wellbeing Centre.
