Enrolment for partner students
Enrolment for partner students
Follow these instructions if you are a student studying at another UK or overseas institution taking a Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) course. In addition to completing enrolment and induction with the partner institution/college you MUST also enrol with BNU.
If you are an apprentice, Research, CPD, International student on a student route visa, or studying directly with BNU, please go back to the main page and find the relevant link.
You must read all instructions before you access the BNU Connect system and complete your online enrolment.
You must enrol for each year of study on your course and you will be invited to enrol when your enrolment record is ready.
If you have not already done so:
- set-up username, password and Multifactor Authentication by following these instructions
- then access the enrolment form.
Why you need to enrol?
Completing your online enrolment will give you access to BNU systems If you’re eligible for Student Finance, and it has been approved, you should also receive your first Student Finance maintenance loan on the date specified on the payment schedule letter.
For new students studying on attendance-based courses at UK Partners you must also ensure that you complete in person identity and documents checks with your Partner college at the start of your studies. If you do not do this you will not be fully enrolled with BNU and, for those where BNU administers Student Finance, you will not have your enrolment confirmed with them which will delay receiving any funding applied for.
If you are eligible for Student Finance and have not yet applied for it, whether you are a new or returning student, you should apply as soon as possible. Applications can take six to eight weeks to process so your first maintenance loan payment may be delayed. New students can find out about eligibility and how to apply on the Government’s website. Returning students should apply through their existing accounts.

Online enrolment will open six to eight weeks prior to start date of course. You will receive an email with full instructions on how to enrol through BNU Connect between 24 to 48 hours after your student record has been updated or your place has been confirmed.

If you are a new student, you will also need to complete in person ID checks at the start of your course with the Partner College before confirmation of enrolment will be made with student finance. Please note that you will be liable to your partner institution/college for any fees due.
