Graphic Design student creates new logo for Aylesbury youth charity

A talented BNU student has played a key role in rebranding one of Aylesbury’s most established youth charities.

Chisom, a 20-year-old Graphic Design student, created a new logo and visual identity for Youth Concern, an independent charity supporting young people aged 13-25 across Aylesbury Vale. The charity unveiled its fresh look at a special launch event at its Drop-in Centre on Whitehill Lane.

Chisom’s design was chosen through a competition run in partnership with the BNU Graphic Design department, where entries were judged by Youth Concern’s Youth Panel alongside the charity’s staff team. Her work was selected for being “bold, youthful and full of energy - just like the young people it represents”.

After winning, Chisom collaborated with a creative agency to develop the charity’s complete visual identity.

“This felt like a way to gain experience and see how my skills translated beyond the classroom," said Chisom. "Winning was such a proud moment – it felt amazing that others appreciated and believed in my design work.”

The rebrand launch event was attended by the Mayor of Aylesbury, Councillor Nidhi Mehta, representatives from Buckinghamshire Council and Thames Valley Police, as well as donors, supporters, and young people involved with the charity.

For more than 45 years, Youth Concern has provided vital support to local young people, offering free counselling, a welcoming drop-in space, and supported housing for those experiencing homelessness.
