BNU hosts first Multi-Faith Day celebrating Wycombe’s religious diversity
Groups from across Wycombe came together at Buckinghamshire New University’s first Multi-Faith Day to celebrate the town’s religious diversity.
Organised by the university’s Multi-Faith Chaplaincy to mark Inter Faith Week (9-16 November), the event invited students, staff and local residents to explore how faith groups contribute to community life.
Among those attending were King’s Church, the Wycombe Islamic Society (WISE), High Wycombe Quakers, All Saints Church, Union Baptist Church, St Anne’s and St Peter’s and Thames Valley Police.
Imam Haseeb Jahangir, BNU’s Interfaith Chaplain, said: “Our first Multi-Faith Day was a great opportunity to meet and learn about different faiths and to discover what local faith organisations have to offer.”
Wycombe MP Emma Reynolds joined BNU staff and students at the unique university event.
She added: “It was inspiring to see students and local faith groups come together in unity. Events like this are vital for challenging division and building inclusive communities.”
Organisers hope to make the Multi-Faith Day an annual fixture celebrating Wycombe’s vibrant interfaith community.
