Morwenna Bone, one of our current students studying the BA (Hons) Early Childhood and Primary Education degree, recently sat down and shared with us how her experience as a BNU student is going so far.

Originally drawn to BNU because of the opportunities we offer, Morwenna was quickly convinced after attending an Open Day here on campus. ‘Coming to Buckinghamshire New University has given me the opportunity to study in a focussed and supportive environment. On the open days I felt really welcomed and the course lecturers were keen to support me to achieve my career goal, this has been reflected during my time here.’

At BNU we pride ourselves on the supportive environment we offer to our students. This goal is reflected throughout our courses. Morwenna shared that ‘ The teaching team have gone above and beyond to ensure that I am supported in every module by providing tutorials, guest speakers and workshops. BNU want the best for the students so tutors are available by email in between lectures which I have found really helpful, so you do not have to wait for support until the next lecture.’

Morwenna stated that with the good work life balance that our Students’ Union helps create, she was able to form meaningful friendships. ‘BNU has enabled me to create a good circle of friends which has really helped me through my studies as we have all provided support for one another.’

She also shared that even the teams behind the scenes were always on-hand to ensure the students were able to make the most out of their time. ‘I was provided with the continuity of timetabling throughout my course which enabled me to also work part time in a school.’

When asked why other students should consider studying BA (Hons) Early Childhood and Primary Education at BNU, Morwenna shared ‘The course gives you a broad range of different subject knowledge which is transferable into practice. The university also offers a range of courses to enhance your skills and employability which can only be beneficial for your CV and future employability. There is also additional support for students is always available and easy to access enabling students to fully engage with the course.’
