  • Study Mode: Part Time
  • Location: High Wycombe
  • Duration: 8 Weeks
  • Start Date: April 2026

Working in CBT requires skills to work with a diverse range of clients and traditional CBT training might not provide you that extra skill set, to bridge that gap in your knowledge and practice BNU created this course to provide you those extra set of skills you need for advanced clinical practice with a diverse range of clients.

Why study this subject?

The application of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy requires a wide range of skills set. Taking a course, whether that’s online or in person is the best way to prepare for a more advanced CBT practice role.

Why study at Buckinghamshire New University?

Developed from professional insight and working experience, this course has been developed with the needs of local organisations in mind, with consultation on what is required in a modern CBT practice environment.

With several courses already in CBT at the university, we can offer you years of experience in both CBT and teaching and supervision with experts in CBT and related research to learn from.

What facilities can I use?

Situated in the south wing, the centralised location at High Wycombe Campus you can also join the course online and will have an opportunity to be involved in clinical skills with your peers.

What will I study?

As part of your course we will be exploring the various aspects of diversity within CBT practice which may not have been covered in CBT Training. Whether you are interested in one or two of these workshops or the entire module, we offer this course flexibly. We invite the experts in these areas to cover the topics below:

  • 16 April 2026 - Working with Interpreters
  • 23 April 2026 - Working with Perinatal Clients
  • 30 April 2026 - Working with Non-Western Cultures
  • 07 May 2026 - Working with Long Term Conditions

If interested in one or two particular workshops, please do not hesitate to enquire.

This course does not bear any credits so there will be no assessments. However, 100% attendance will be required for which CPD certificates will be provided.
