I am currently a Lecturer and Module Leader in the College of Leadership and Innovation at Buckinghamshire New University, where I educate students from Foundation level through to Postgraduate. I also support six University Partners - both UK-based and international - as their Business Partner Tutor, providing academic guidance and pastoral support.
Before joining BNU in January 2024, I worked at the University of Wolverhampton as a Master’s Dissertation Supervisor, supporting international postgraduate business students. I also contributed as a Visiting Lecturer in the School of Tourism and Hospitality, sharing my industry experience and insights with students and colleagues.
My career in the Travel and Tourism industry spans over 20 years, during which I held roles in Key Account Management, Business Development, Partnership Management, and Sales. I was responsible for the training and development of over 50 staff members. I also spent two years in the charitable sector as a Senior Relationship Manager in Philanthropy, managing high-profile events in London and Monaco, and engaging in corporate networking and public speaking to secure substantial donations for children and families with additional needs.
I hold a master’s degree in strategic People Management and Human Resources (CIPD Level 7, Distinction) and a BA (Hons) in Tourism Management (First Class) from the University of Wolverhampton. During my studies, I actively participated in Women in Business Conferences and served as an Ambassador for the Travel and Tourism Business School. I was honoured to represent the University as a guest panellist at the Institute of Travel and Tourism Conference, where I spoke on topics such as “Barriers faced by mature students and the risks of ageism in the workplace”, addressing an audience of over 1,000 senior professionals.
More recently I was invited as a Keynote Speaker at a partner research conference to deliver a talk on “Empathetic Leadership” Awareness to Action - Supporting Menopausal women in Academia a topic which will be integral to my PhD.
I am an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), having completed my Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) to further enhance my teaching and learning expertise.
