Fiona Chalk

Biography

I am proud to be a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience in a variety of acute medical services, 12 years of which working in a variety of Clinical, Education and Leadership roles. My time in practice offered me the opportunity to support service users with varied acute and complex health care needs, and health care professionals with varied education and support needs. I continue to hold an Honorary Contract in a medical speciality area. 

Following completion of my Adult Nursing degree with Nursing Registration, I undertook a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Professional Education, a Masters in Advanced Health Care Practice and completed an Independent study Dementia Leaders course, concentrating on Dementia education provision. 

My academic career began when I joined Buckinghamshire New University in early 2016 when I was recruited to support the Dementia and Frailty education agenda. I am the module leader for Dementia modules, Medical Assessment modules and Frailty modules, also contributing to a range of other subjects within the Professional Practice and other programmes. I support a wide variety of dementia education across a range of courses provided by the University and across a number of London Trusts. I am also the Programme Lead for the MSc Professional Practice course.
