What will I study?
On the Community Practitioner Nurse Prescriber course, you will develop the skills and confidence to prescribe safely and effectively within your professional scope of practice. You will learn to apply advanced clinical decision-making skills in line with the RPS Competency Framework for All Prescribers and the NMC Standards for Prescribing, while adhering to legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities. you will develop a thorough understanding of the Nurse Prescribers’ Formulary for Community Practitioners (NPF).

The Community Practitioner Nurse Prescriber Programme is delivered online, utilising a blend of synchronous and asynchronous methods to ensure a flexible and engaging learning experience for you. These methods are designed to accommodate the needs of busy healthcare professionals while maintaining high standards of education.
The programme includes a variety of assessment methods to evaluate students' theoretical knowledge, practical competencies, and reflective practices in prescribing. These assessments will ensure that students meet the required academic and professional standards outlined by the NMC and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) Competency for all Prescribers’ framework.
What are the course entry requirements?
To enrol on this course, you must hold an active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) on Level 1 of the NMC register and have experience working in a community setting where prescribing skills would enhance your scope of practice. You must be supported by your employer and demonstrate confirmation of a designated Practice Supervisor and Practice Assessor.
