Why study Business Management at BNU

Why study Business Management at BNU

When it came the time to apply for university, I personally was very undecided on what to study. I kept going back and forth between many different options such as psychology and drama but eventually settled on business management. I realised that a degree in this still kept many doors open but allowed me to immediately continue progressing academically.

Learn valuable and relevant skills

One of the things that was important to me when looking for a degree was that I would be learning relevant information that would give me the knowledge and skills needed to enter the job market post-graduation. I have found my degree has given me an awareness and understanding of the global and UK economic climate, taught me how to manage a team and company, and how to grow a business. It was really important to me to be able to graduate with lots of transferable skills and key knowledge, whilst having the flexibility to go into a variety of fields, including fashion, entertainment, retail and non-for profit.

Gain a professionally accredited degree

Another thing I love about this course is the professional specialisms and opportunities available. The Business Management course has modules specifically centred around working closely with professional body, the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) meaning that graduates of this course are set up perfectly to not only achieve an accredited degree but also have the academic knowledge that will help you transition into a professional career.

Understand your career trajectory

The Business Management degree has been designed to have practical components that help prepare you for life after university. I found that the career viewpoint module I studied in my first year was great as it prepared me by looking at where I was and what I needed to do throughout my degree to be as employable as possible upon graduation. It can also give an opportunity for anyone undecided on a dream job to explore career opportunities.

Flexible learning style

The course is taught with both lectures and seminars, usually a 1-hour lecture followed by a 2-hour seminar for each module. This enables all learning styles to be catered to. I find that talking through the content learned in the lecture very helpful as it furthers my understanding and lets me make links between the academic knowledge and the current business environment.

Be seen and heard

Finally, I thought I’d add in a few benefits of studying at BNU. We have a great ratio of academics to students which means that lecturers know you and have more time available to aid your course work. You can also contact lecturers if you’re in need of help and get a timely response. Our University also assigns everyone a personal tutor that can help you academically as they are course based and can direct you to any other help you may need.

I hope this has aided your university decision and given you a true insight into BNU. It would be great if some of you now consider this university the one for you!
