What I'd do differently
So, what would I do differently if I could go back and apply to university again? Would I even do anything different? In this blog, we are going to have a look at the application process and the lessons I have learnt going through it.

For the sake of this blog, I am going to assume you have decided upon the rough topic in which you would like to study, and you have decided to study here at Buckinghamshire New University. The first step is to decide which exact course you want to enrol on and the best way to do this is research. From module descriptors to facilities and course opportunities, read about it all!
I was convinced I wanted to study Music Technology, so I read through course information section on the website and decided that interested me, would I do it again the same way? Probably not! I didn't give any of the other music courses an opportunity. So, if I were to re-enrol, I would read up about all the courses in the music sector and then make a formal decision, which is what I recommend you do too.
Enrolling
Once you’ve decided on the course you want to study, the next stage is to enrol. You can do that by following the enrol button on the course page online. If you need any help with this you can contact the BNU advice team, or chat to staff and students online.
When I was enrolling, I also managed to take part in a zoom meeting with some of the lecturers. This really helped me gain some insight into what life at BNU could be like for me. It solidified my choice and I’d highly recommend for everyone to do when applying.
Preparing
Once the enrolment process is complete and you’ve got your spot on the course, it's time to prepare for the university experience that awaits you.
How did I go about doing this when I applied? Well, to be honest, I didn't! This is something I would change. You could do this by simply speaking to other students through the chat function on the BNU website, meet other starting students via the BNU social media pages, talk to alumni, visit the area for a weekend, watch videos on the university and area surrounding it, listen to their podcasts and read the blogs their students have written.
There is a wide range of ways to prepare yourself. But most importantly the one bit of advice I would give is to jump in with both feet and don't do anything at university half hearted.
