Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2025, my first position was as a rotational midwife before I joined a dedicated Continuity of Care Team. I have always been passionate about supporting the learning experiences of student midwives and have worked in roles including as Lead Collaborative Learning in Practice (CLiP) Midwife at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and as a Midwifery Learning Environment Lead with the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West (BOB) Integrated Care System (ICS).
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Midwifery from the University of West London and an MSc in Healthcare Leadership from the University of Hull. My specialist interests lie in supporting the learning and development of pre-registration midwifery students, nurturing the next generation of midwives through innovative practice opportunities. I am particularly passionate about integrating coaching approaches within maternity care and hold a Level 7 Advanced Certificate in Executive Coaching from the University of the West of England and the Institute of Leadership and Management.
My specialist knowledge has led me to work with NHS England as part of their National Expert Advisory Committees supporting The Future Midwives Standards and Improving the Learner Experience. My work has been recognised as an NHSE Maternity National Good Practice Case Study, supporting learners and staff to adopt innovation in practice. I have also recently supported the Buckinghamshire Health and Social Academy as part of the Aspirant Educators Masterclass project.
I am a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Registered Midwife and also a member of the Royal Collage of Midwives. My career highlight has been having the opportunities to support healthcare students at all stages of their training to grow and develop into kind, compassionate and skilled midwives.
