Before joining Buckinghamshire New University, I developed a broad and progressive clinical and academic career spanning primary care, secondary mental health services, crisis care, and higher education. I bring extensive prior experience in senior clinical leadership, service development, and multidisciplinary working across NHS and independent sector settings.
Within higher education, I have held key leadership roles including Programme Lead for the Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship and Professional Lead for Mental Health Nursing. These roles have encompassed curriculum design and review, quality assurance, regulatory engagement, external examiner liaison, and close partnership working with NHS trusts, primary care providers, and independent organisations to support high-quality practice learning environments.
My academic practice is informed by my professional background in clinical mental health practice, enabling me to bridge theory and practice and contribute to workforce development, widening participation, and student success. A particular career highlight has been the integration of senior clinical expertise with academic leadership, alongside contributing to published work in mental health nursing and ongoing doctoral research.
