Biography
  • I joined BNU as an Associate Lecturer in the 2021/22 academic year, teaching elements of the Positive Education and other evidence-based interventions module on postgraduate education programmes. More recently, I joined the MSc in Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) team, delivering teaching across a range of modules.

Prior to joining BNU, I occasionally freelanced as a lecturer in Positive Education on behalf of Dr Ilona Boniwell, in Paris and Singapore. I continue to lecture internationally, delivering an intensive Positive Psychology-informed day course to Bachelor of Nursing students as they begin their studies, within the context of an innovative Econursing module at the University of Luxembourg.

My work bridges research and practice. Alongside my academic roles, I work as a trainer, speaker and consultant, supporting schools and other organisations to foster positive cultures and sustainable wellbeing.

I hold an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and am currently completing a Professional Doctorate in Education (EdD). My doctoral research explores the use of Appreciative Inquiry, a strengths-based organisational change process, to strengthen whole-school wellbeing within school communities. I also bring direct experience of classroom teaching to my work, having qualified and worked as a teacher earlier in my career, and having briefly returned to the profession more recently as a supply teacher to refresh my experience ‘at the chalkface’ and inform my practice-focused approach.

I am the author, co-author and co-editor of several books on wellbeing, character and human flourishing.
