Ann-Marie Hippolyte

Biography

Prior to joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2022, I was a Learning Environment Facilitator in Buckinghamshire Health Trust and have been in education learning & development for six plus years. The role entailed supporting pre-registration nursing students with a specific focus on nursing associates. Prior to this I was a Clinical Practice Educator supporting the newly qualified nurses, medical students and allied health professionals in the Trust. I delivered clinical skills, teaching sessions on cannulation, venepuncture, three yearly skills update and Preceptorship study days which included clinical supervision. I am a’ train the trainer’ and support the wider education team with the NMC OSCEs, which involves training sessions replicating the test environment. I am trained to support simulation which can take place in the simulation suite or in a ward environment.

I studied for my qualification as a registered nurse at University of Bedfordshire in 2009 and worked in Buckinghamshire Health Trust from 2009  as a staff Nurse. On the ward I specialised in gynaecology, plastics and surgery until 2015. Being in the ward environment made me realise my love for supporting students in practice which led me to join the Education Learning & Development team in 2015 in Buckinghamshire Health Trust. I gained my post graduate certificate in education in 2018 at Buckinghamshire New University. Gaining my teaching qualification has given me the knowledge and skills needed to deliver sessions which can be tailored to staff and students.

I am an NMC registered Nurse and Teacher.

My greatest accolade to date is being the finalist for the Trusts staff CARE awards in 2019, awarded for Respect.
