My BNU Story: BA (Hons) Marketing

My BNU Story: BA (Hons) Marketing

Akanksha, a BNU marketing student, recently sat down and shared with us her BNU story and the opportunities she has had since joining us. From being the face of BNU in magazines and several campaigns, to our Students’ Union and societies, it’s been a jam-packed one for Akanksha!

Why did you decide to study at BNU?

As an international student I was scared to move to a new place. I chose BNU because I had a friend who went here and had told me that it was a small university but with great lecturers. I was only 19 when I moved to UK and very unsure of the processes, but the admissions team were very helpful and assisted me with every query I had.

What makes your course right for you?

My interest in marketing came from studying economics and business studies in college. Through the last 2 years at university, I have gained so much experience and networked so much, it has helped me learn a lot more about marketing. My interest in psychology also grew when studying consumer behaviour.

What do you love most about BNU?

The thing I love the most about BNU is the free activities provided by the Students’ Union. These have helped me meet new people with similar interests and push myself to try new things like climbing and go-karting. Another thing I love is the feeling of community at the university and feeling of belonging I get from being part of BNU.

What do you love most about your course?

I love that we get to do live briefs with companies and then present back to them our solutions to the brief. Through this and the modules on my course, I have been able to gain real-world marketing experience and delve into campaign ideas, feasibility analysis and case studies.

What would you say to anyone considering study at BNU?

I would highly recommend BNU as there is so many activities, societies and sports to take part in. There is an opportunity for every interest, it hard to ever feel left out! The only advice I’d give is have a go at everything, try every experience you can and enjoy your time at BNU.

What’s your BNU proud moment?

My BNU proud moment was being the face of the university in magazines and around the university for promotional content working as a Student Ambassador.
