Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2020, I practiced as a clinical development lead and community practice teacher within a busy community nursing service. I have worked within district nursing for 15 years and am passionate about providing high quality nursing care to people within their own homes. Although leaving full-time practice was a huge decision it felt like the opportunity was the right one and so I started my role as a lecturer within the community health teaching team and CPPD team at the end of last year. I continue to work in practice at weekends so I can remain up-to-date with the issues faced by patients and services.

I studied for my MSc in Community Healthcare at Buckinghamshire New University and focussed on leadership in community nursing. I am interested in studying the complex relationships that develop between nurse, patient and family and the emotional burden experienced by community nurses.

I am most proud of achieving my MSc and am very keen to write for publication in the future.
