A new vision for health equity

Inaugural Lecture: Professor Adetoro Adegoke
Health Equity at Scale: From the Margins to System Transformation

A powerful and thought-provoking finale to this year’s Inaugural Lecture Series will see Professor Adetoro Adegoke, Professor of Health Inequalities, share her bold vision for transforming health systems.

Taking place on Wednesday 13 May at 4pm, the lecture, Health Equity at Scale: From the Margins to System Transformation, tackles one of the most pressing challenges of our time: health inequality.

Despite ongoing efforts, disparities in health outcomes persist across communities and populations. In this engaging lecture, Professor Adegoke will challenge conventional approaches and uncover why inequalities persist, despite decades of effort.

Drawing on her extensive work across communities, health systems and global policy spaces, she offers a new perspective: that health inequality is not simply about individual behaviour, but the result of structural and systemic design.

At the heart of the lecture is a powerful proposition: health equity cannot be achieved through isolated interventions - it must be delivered at scale through transformed systems.

The lecture introduces an ambitious and practical framework for delivering 'Health Equity at Scale', demonstrating how trust, community engagement and system-wide redesign can work together to improve access, experiences and outcomes for marginalised populations.
