The manifesto sets out six core pledges covering the entire student journey – from pre-arrival support and an inclusive start, through personalised learning and wellbeing provision, to leadership opportunities and strong career pathways beyond graduation.
BNU’s commitments include:

- Celebrating their start and supporting students at every stage of their learning journey.
- Supporting health wellbeing and “Being You at BNU”.
- Providing inclusive and accessible teaching supported by co-created curriculum design.
- Offering and encouraging students to participation connect, lead and take part in varied activities.
- Preparing students for employment and life after university.
The role of our community
The manifesto will be brought to life through a shared effort:
- Our people will maintain these commitments through teaching, support, and a sense community, enabling our students to thrive and succeed.
- Our students will engage with opportunities, share feedback, and support each other in making the most of their time at BNU.
- Our partners and employers will collaborate with us to create opportunities, build networks, and strengthen pathways to graduate success.
Professor Damien Page, Vice-Chancellor, said: “This manifesto represents our shared vision with students, that BNU is a place where everyone belongs, learns, and succeeds, now and in the future. From school outreach to alumni networking, we support our students on every step of their journey as they grow personally and succeed professionally.”
Dr Dionne Spencer, Dean of Students, added: “Our manifesto is not only a commitment it’s a partnership and a collective effort to ensure that our students thrive and succeed at BNU and beyond.”
