Emerging creative talent showcased at Buckinghamshire New University Summer Show

Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) is inviting the public to its annual Art & Design Summer Show, running from 26 June to 1 July 2026.

Held at the Brunel Engine Shed, next to High Wycombe train station, the exhibition will feature work from students across a wide range of creative disciplines.

The Summer Show is a chance to see what this year’s students have been working on, from fine art and photography to fashion, interiors and work for film and TV. It brings together a mix of styles, ideas and approaches, with plenty for visitors to see and explore.

The exhibition reflects the talent coming out of the university, with students tackling contemporary themes through everything from textiles to digital work to large-scale installations.

The courses behind the work focus on helping students build the skills and experience they need to step straight into careers in the creative industries.

Dr Russel Stone, Dean of the College of Creative Arts, Technology and Engineering (CATE), said: “The Art & Design Summer Show is always the pinnacle of our academic year. It’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the sheer determination of our students and see their ambition come to life. Every year, I’m genuinely struck by the originality and polish of the pieces.

“Our courses are built around real-world experience, ensuring our graduates can transition smoothly from studio into professional roles. The UK’s creative sector is incredibly dynamic and it’s brilliant to see our students preparing to enter that world with such fresh perspectives. I’d urge anyone to come along and take a look – you might just spot the next big talent.”

The event is free to attend and open to all, welcoming members of the public, local community and industry professionals alike.
