Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) has been announced as Wycombe Wanderers Football Club’s back-of-shirt sponsor for the 2024/25 season.

The club’s Official Higher Education Partner will enter their third year of the partnership with Buckinghamshire New University emblazoned across the back of Wanderers’ playing and replica shirts, which are set to be seen by a bigger worldwide audience than ever before thanks to enhanced coverage of English Football League fixtures on the new Sky Sports+ channel.

The university continues to benefit from advertising and match sponsorship opportunities around the club’s Adams Park stadium, as well as engaging in a number of dual civic and community engagements with the club, across High Wycombe and the surrounding area. Earlier this year, the partners shared research on the positive experiences of women at Adams Park which have helped shape the next stage of developments around the stadium.

In addition, Wycombe Wanderers Foundation – the charitable arm of the club – is engaged with the University in a two-year degree in Football Coaching with Football Development & Performance, delivered through a combination of in-person lectures at both the stadium and the university’s High Wycombe campus.

Wycombe Wanderers was represented at the launch of the back-of-shirt sponsorship by the club’s director, Trevor Stroud (pictured), while interim chairman Dan Rice commented: “We are thrilled to strengthen our relationship with Buckinghamshire New University and thank them for their continued support which sees them now benefit from having their name displayed across the club’s iconic quarters and away shirts.

“It is a partnership that delivers plenty of benefits for both the club and university, as well as providing a wide range of opportunities for the students to engage in educational and recreational activities with us, and hope we continue to go from strength to strength as partners for many years to come.”

Vice-Chancellor of Buckinghamshire New University, Professor Nick Braisby, added: “We’re delighted BNU has been announced as the Chairboys’ back-of-shirt sponsor for the upcoming season.

“The new sponsorship strengthens the important partnership between our two historic institutions, which provides our students with exceptional learning opportunities, while improving the lives of our local community through our civic engagement work.

“We wish all of Wycombe Wanderers’ teams and staff the very best of luck for a successful season.”
