Enrolment for international students

Enrolment for international students

This section is for those students who will study either, at High Wycombe or Uxbridge campus at Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) and will require a student route visa to study in the UK.

If you do not need a student route visa to study with BNU please go back to the main page and find the relevant link

You must read all instructions before you access the BNU Connect system and complete your online enrolment.

You must enrol for each year of study on your course and you will be invited to enrol when your enrolment record is ready.

If you have not already done so:

  • Set up a username, password and Multifactor Authentication by following these instructions.
  • Then access the enrolment form.

Please note: the enrolment task will only be available to you for a limited time. Once you have submitted the enrolment form you will receive an email confirming successful submission of the enrolment form. You can check on the form summary if the status is listed as SUBMITTED.

What is enrolment?

Enrolment is a two-stage process to register as an official BNU student. Enrolling at the right time is important as it unlocks things like your course timetable and access to BNU systems.

  • Stage 1: Online enrolment (before you arrive)
  • Stage 2: Document Checks, when you arrive in the UK.

Please note that if you have a conditional offer, you will only be sent instructions to enrol once all conditions and deposit have been received and confirmed.

You will receive an email with full instructions on how to enrol through BNU Connect between 24 to 48 hours after your student record has been updated or your place has been confirmed.

All students need to complete the following:

  • Confirm/update your enrolment record details
  • Upload a copy of your valid passport – the page of your passport that contains your photograph, full name, date of birth, issue/expiry date (often referred to as the 'biometric page'). The following formats are accepted – JPEG, Adobe PDF or Microsoft documents saved as a .docx or .xlsx format.
  • When making a bank transfer please enter your Student ID and if fees or room, Tuition or Accomm. (Accommodation)

  • UKVI Decision Letter
  • Original Qualification Documents
  • Evidence of your Secure English Language Test (e.g. IELTS)
  • Biometric Residence Permits (BRP) to be shown by continuing International students
  • Entry clearance visa

New International students will be able to collect their Biometric Residence Permits along with the BNU ID cards when they present themselves for this document check during welcome week.

Why you need to enrol?

Completing online enrolment (before you arrive) will give you access to your course timetable which means you can start planning! It also means we can start getting your University systems access in place.

Once you have set up your IT account and enrolled you will be able to access the MyBNU portal and your timetable will be there as soon as they are ready.

Completing your online enrolment and your in-person document check when you arrive for welcome week means:

  • You will be able to collect your Biometric Residence Permit (for new students)
  • You will receive your BNU ID card which is your library card and swipe-access card to get around the University.
  • If you are living in private accommodation, you can apply for a council tax exemption certificate (full-time students only).
  • You will not be fully enrolled until you have arrived in the UK and reported to the Compliance Team on campus with the required documentation.

Please note all International students must ensure that they have;

  • Submitted online enrolment
  • Shown Original Documents to Compliance Team
  • Started classes within the first two weeks of teaching.

If you are going to arrive later than this you MUST contact the Compliance Team on compliance-admin@bnu.ac.uk. You may not be allowed to enrol or continue your studies with BNU if you do not meet these requirements.
