What will I study?

This module is designed to equip health and social care professionals with the critical skills necessary for successful management and leadership within the health and social care sector. 

Functioning as a 'mini-MBA’, this module offers an in-depth exploration into key areas such as people management, strategic marketing and communication, finance, and strategic leadership.

By integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application, the course aims to prepare you for the complex challenges of health and social care administration.

Through this module, you will gain the insights and tools needed to navigate the business, management and strategic leadership aspects of health and social care, ensuring efficient, patient-centred services.

How will I be taught and assessed?

This module includes formative and summative exercises set throughout the module, which will enable you to build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating the achievement of the learning outcomes. 

Set exercises include CV preparation, a presentation, an elevator pitch, a short report/board paper and a reflection. Each task is designed to provide knowledge and skills that can transfer to the work setting.

What are the course entry requirements?

Students studying this module must have a clinical Supervisor that is a Qualified Advanced practitioner with an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and minimum 3 years in the role, a Medical Doctor ST3 or above, or GP.

What are the tuition fees

  • Home, Academic Year 2025 - 2026: £1,320 per year *

Please note all of the 2026/27 fees stated are subject to parliamentary procedure. Tuition fees are expected to increase each academic year in line with the maximum permitted value set by the Government for that academic year. The expected rise for Home undergraduate students (including those on a foundation year course), may impact both new and continuing students.

Please note, distance learning and international fees are subject to change for 2027/2028 intake.

Your tuition fees cover most course costs, but you may need to budget for additional expenses. These can include specialist equipment, project materials, professional memberships, field trips or placements, as well as everyday student costs like printing, books and stationery.
