- the scientific basis of cancer: epidemiology, aetiology, carcinogenesis, the genetic basis of cancer

- site specific cancers and metastatic disease
- the social, psychological, emotional, spiritual and cultural context of cancer care
- treatment modalities to include surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, hormone therapies, biological therapies and complementary therapies
- current trends in cancer management and health promotion
- evidence based practice and cancer related clinical studies
- oncological emergencies
- rehabilitation and survivorship
- contemporary issues: e.g. the expert patient, community vs hospital care, cancer inequalities in the NHS.
- health policy and cancer NHS reform.
When will this course run?
This course runs on Wednesdays at our Uxbridge campus.
What are the course entry requirements?
A typical offer will include a minimum of six months' post-registration experience within a relevant area of practice.
Applicants must:
Be registered health care professional with for a minimum of six months' post-registration experience within a relevant area of practice.
Hold 120 Level 5 credits (or equivalent) to apply for the Level 6 module
Be educated at degree level to access Level 7 module ( master's study)

Home, Academic Year 2025 - 2026: £830 *
Please note all of the 2026/27 fees stated are subject to parliamentary procedure.
