Why study Psychology at BNU?

Why study Psychology at BNU?

BNU not only has a wide range of psychology subjects; yes, you read that right, but also wonderful and supportive staff and lecturers who will help prepare you for a psychology career in addition to teaching you advanced theory.

If you’re not sure what kind of career you’d like to do, don’t worry, at BNU we use a psychology programme, where you’ll learn about nearly every topic, including forensic psychology, developmental psychology and much more, after your first year. You can then continue your pathway or apply to switch to a specialised pathway within Psychology for your degree.

Choices range from sports psychology, counselling psychology to even business with psychology. As I said, a wide range, with something for everyone.

At BNU you will have lectures with very skilled professors who will teach you all the theory in a very effective and simple to understand way. What else? Well, let me tell you! Your lecturers have worked, and some still actively work in the field, and they will be able to help give you a better insight into how it all works in real life, and not just in theory.

As well as lectures, you will also have seminars; where you discuss all the material from your lectures in more detail, and workshops, where you put all that you’ve learned into practice. You will be prepared to take on work in psychology if you choose to study at BNU.

In addition to everything you’ve just read, the university also offers some of the best, state-of-the-art equipment for you to use to help you expand your knowledge and practice and use your skills for your dissertation in your final year. What facilities do we have? We’ve got a simulation room with a two-way mirror for observations and experiments, a VR headset, eye tracking equipment, loads of equipment to measure the brain activity and behaviour, SPSS; a software that aids you with your research, and much more.

Moreover, the University has a library with four floors where you are guaranteed to find everything you need, be it a book, a journal or online articles on research.

As a psychology student myself, I can say that BNU really is fantastic. I might be a bit biased, but, I do truly believe it. The lecturers are very open to feedback from students as they genuinely want to create a safe, friendly and non-judgmental environment for learning and ensure you actually learn and retain the information.

All lessons are very interactive, and seminars are always in smaller groups, so the teachers will know you by name and be able to offer better help and feedback.

If you’ve read this far, I’m assuming, and hoping, you’re interested in studying Psychology at BNU. So let me leave you with this, at BNU, you would have everything you’d need for your degree, including support, and you will feel prepared for further education if you decide on that, or a job in the field!
