Biography
  • I am a Lecturer and Module Leader in the College of Leadership and Innovation at Buckinghamshire New University, where I teach students from Foundation level through to Postgraduate study. I also serve as the Personal Tutor Lead, supporting best practice in academic advising and student wellbeing. Alongside this, I work as a Business Partner Tutor for six UK-based and international partner institutions, providing academic leadership, quality assurance guidance, and pastoral support to diverse global cohorts.

I am a Chartered Management & Business Educator (CMBE), committed to maintaining high professional standards in teaching, learning, and pedagogic development.

Before joining BNU in January 2024, I worked at the University of Wolverhampton as a Master’s Dissertation Supervisor, supporting international postgraduate business students throughout their research and writing journey. I also contributed as a Visiting Lecturer in the School of Tourism and Hospitality, sharing the professional insights I gained from more than two decades in industry.

My earlier career was based in the Travel and Tourism sector, where I spent over 20 years in roles including Key Account Management, Business Development, Partnership Management, and Sales. During this time, I led the training and development of more than 50 staff and built strong commercial relationships across the industry. I later moved into the charitable sector as a Senior Relationship Manager in Philanthropy, where I managed high-profile events in London and Monaco, engaged in corporate networking, and delivered public-speaking engagements to secure substantial donations for families and children with additional needs.

I hold a master’s degree in strategic People Management and Human Resources (CIPD Level 7, Distinction) and a First-Class BA (Hons) in Tourism Management from the University of Wolverhampton. During my studies, I took part in Women in Business Conferences and served as an Ambassador for the Travel and Tourism Business School. I was honoured to represent the University as a guest panellist at the Institute of Travel and Tourism Conference, where I spoke to more than 1,000 senior professionals about the barriers faced by mature students and the risks of ageism in the workplace.

More recently, I was invited as a keynote speaker at a partner research conference, where I delivered a talk titled “Empathetic Leadership: Awareness to Action – Supporting Menopausal Women in Academia.” This topic will also form the foundation of my forthcoming PhD research.

I am an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Completing my Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) has strengthened my expertise in teaching, learning, and inclusive academic practice. My professional strengths include empathetic leadership, partnership building, student support, inclusive practice, and empowering learners to achieve their academic and personal potential.
