Biography
  • Dr Shiny Jabin is a global health practitioner, educator, and researcher with over 10 years of experience leading initiatives across diverse communities and cultural contexts. She has experience in the three main domains of public health practice: health-development sector, research, and academia. Her work focuses on strengthening health systems, improving population health especially, vulnerable older adults, and addressing health inequalities through evidence-based policymaking. 

    She started her academic career as a visiting Lecturer at Buckinghamshire New University in 2022. In 2025, she joined as a Lecturer in Public Health to support Master of Public Health (MPH) program. Before joining Buckinghamshire New University, she worked with international organizations such as BRAC and icddr,b. As a public health consultant, she designed and implemented sustainable health programs in Bangladesh while working with international and national level development collaborators.

    She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), a Master of Public Health (MPH), an MSc in International Public Health Nutrition and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) focusing on health system management, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and policy. Additionally, she holds Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Practice in Higher Education. Her work emphasizes innovation, inclusivity, and forward-thinking strategies to create resilient and sustainable health systems that can tackle future challenges. Her significant contributions have been recognized with several merit scholarships, awards and grants for research excellence and scholarly work. 

    She is a registered medical practitioner with the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC), a registered associate nutritionist (ANutr) with Association for Nutrition, UK and a member of The Nutrition Society, UK. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH).
