Before being appointed Dean of College at Buckinghamshire New University, I was Head of School of Creative and Digital Industries. Prior to that I held positions as Associate Head of School and Senior Lecturer.  Before joining academia, I worked in the UK music industry, initially in marketing and then in Artist and Repertoire (A&R).

I studied for my PhD in Marketing at The Business School at The University of Birmingham and hold a MA in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. I also hold a MA in Digital Media and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Institute of Data and Marketing (IDM) in London. My specialist area of research is influence in social networks. It is interesting because social media has democratised influence and given word of mouth communication unprecedented impact and reach that has changed how consumers acquire and react to information.

I am a Senior Fellow of the HEA, a committee member of the Royal Television Society Technology Centre and a member of Buckinghamshire LSIP Film and TV Group.
