Rupert Hammerton-Fraser

Biography

Before I joined Buckinghamshire New University in 1993 I was working as a mould maker, working for a subsidiary of BurlyField castings. Prior to this, I worked Siegel and Stockman, Klaybow Films and Jim Henson's Creature Shop in the moulding & casting departments. I have spent the last 30 years at Buckinghamshire New University widening my skills toolbox, which now means my working day can be anything from working with an 1830’s Albion letterpress, to using a Creaform 3D scanner.

I have been fortunate enough to be able to complete an MA in my subject area while working at the university. My other specialist knowledge has led me to work with clients such as The British Museum, Royal Palaces, English Heritage and the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre. Some of my career highlights so far have been working with Leicester University, the Richard III society, and the Royal Armouries on the interpretation of Richard III’s bones leading to a presentation at the Daily Mail history show.
