Natasha Shand

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2019, I was working as an advanced nurse practitioner for surgical cardiac patients at Harefield Hospital, NHS Trust, where I continue to work alongside my responsibilities at the University. Prior to this, with a career going back to 1995, I have worked as a research nurse in electrophysiology, I have run the pre-admissions cardiac service at the Heart Hospital, University College London Hospital Foundation Trust, have been a nurse on a cardio thoracic high dependency unit and have worked as an agency nurse in most of the London intensive care units.

In 2013 I completed my Master of Science in Nursing (Advanced Nurse Practitioner) at City University, which included non-medical prescribing. My specialist area of interest is cardiac care which I am passionate about as it continues to evolve and affects so many people.

I am a member of Unison.
