Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2021, I was employed in FE as course leader for Access to HE, HNC level 4 in Health and Social Care and HND level 5. I also worked as a Moving and Handling trainer, assisted with managing care homes in Health and Social Care, and as a music teacher. I studied a PGCE through Canterbury Christchurch University, a BSc in Psychology at the Open University, a BSc in Disability Studies and a MSc in Applied Psychology of Learning Disabilities at the University of Portsmouth.
One of my keen areas of interest centres around promoting diversity and inclusivity. As a Lead Trainer for the Oliver McGowan Training program, I work with autistic persons and individuals with learning disabilities as co-facilitators to train staff and student nurses in providing informed and compassionate care to autistic persons and individuals with learning disabilities.
I have instilled within myself an earnest respect for humanity and the world that we have been entrusted with. I possess a vibrant disposition which provides the fuel to serve sincerely. I am purposeful and intentional in maintaining meaningful and collaborative relationships. I believe in being always grateful for opportunities and relish the charge around facilitating prospects for others to not only survive but thrive. I am now developing as a keen and competent researcher.
