Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2021, I was employed in FE as course leader for Access to HE, HNC level 4 in Health and Social Care and HND level 5. I also taught on the Foundation Degree in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences (delivered jointly by FE/HE), worked as a Moving and Handling trainer and also as a music teacher.

I studied a PGCE through Canterbury Christchurch University, a BSc in Psychology at the Open University, a BSc in Disability Studies and MSc in Applied Psychology of Learning Disabilities at University of Portsmouth. My specialist area of interest centres around education for individuals with learning disabilities. This has stimulated my interest since much of our treatment of individuals with learning disabilities can be attributed to our social construction of the phenomena to be controlled, while some societies may tend to see a different kind of development which needs to facilitated within our increasingly complex society.

I have instilled within myself with an earnest respect for humanity and the world that we have been entrusted with. I possess a vibrant disposition which provides the fuel to serve sincerely. I believe in being purposeful and intentional in communication to maintain meaningful relationships. I believe in being always grateful for opportunities and relish the prospects of facilitating opportunities for others to thrive.
