Brett Gordon

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2021, I was a professional musician and composer, signed to recording and publishing labels including Geffen, Universal, Virgin and EMI among others. I toured worldwide and performed alongside acts such as Nirvana, Radiohead and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I continue to write and produce music for TV, films and games. I also record and mix music for many different artists, both signed and unsigned.

I am about to complete my PhD at The University of Hull and my specialist area of interest is acousmatic music and the relationship between composer and sound material with studio technology.

I have presented papers and performed at academic conferences all over the world including International Computer Music Conferences (Australia, Greece, South Korea and USA), MUSLAB (Mexico and Brazil), Erasmus IP (Cyprus), New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival (USA) and Audiograft (UK).

I have written or co-written music for films including The Waterboy and Green Street among others, as well as for TV shows worldwide.
