I first taught at Buckinghamshire New University in 2019, before re-joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2026. In my professional life, I have worked for FCDO Services, and I have been, at various times, a NATO intelligence analyst, corporate intelligence and security manager and a Metropolitan Police officer. My career highlights were being on the investigation team for Operations OVERT and WHIMBREL, the Al-Qaida liquid explosives plot, and the murder of Alexander Litvinenko respectively. I have been a member of the Volunteer Reserve Forces for many years and continue to serve. I have deployed operationally to the Former Yugoslavia and Iraq.

I studied for my BSc Econ (Hons) International Politics & Strategic Studies at Aberystwyth University and my MA Intelligence & Security Studies at Brunel University.

Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT). It is interesting because it bridges traditional intelligence disciplines and is helping to reshape how intelligence works. OSINT in the post-digital world has exploded, but it has not settled. It’s a discipline still defining its methods; its ethics; its boundaries.
