Biography
  • Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2025, I was a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Brunel. Prior to that I completed two post-doctoral fellowships. First at the University of Aberdeen, in the Martinovic Lab, then at McGill University, Montreal, in the Kingdom Lab.

I have a BSc in Physics (University of Leeds), an MSc in Computer Science (Birkbeck College, University of London) and a PhD in Visual Science (City St George’s, University of London).

My primary specialist area of research is in the field of visual perception in both healthy and clinical (e.g., Parkinson’s Disease, traumatic head injury) populations. I am interested in all stages of visual processing from the initial processing of colour and shapes, through to high-level visual cognition, e.g., face and natural scene perception, and how general visual performance can affect reading ability.

In addition to this I have research interests in mental health, psychopathology, e.g., depression, emotion perception, the interaction of ASD and ADHD, and also extreme personality traits and their relationship to mental and physical health.

I am a member of the Applied Vision Association and the Colour Group GB.
