Biography
  • I am a PhD researcher supervised by Dr Shahadate Rezvy in the College of Creative Arts, Technology, and Engineering at Buckinghamshire New University.

My research focuses on developing and evaluating deep learning models for blood vessel segmentation in 3D kidney images. I’m passionate about creating AI tools that can improve early detection and make medical imaging more interpretable for clinicians.

I completed my MSc in Data Science and Engineering at the University of Dundee and my BSc (Hons) in Applied Sciences at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Over the years, I’ve worked on projects ranging from melanoma skin lesion classification using deep learning to microcontroller-based satellite systems, and even computational geophysics projects like mapping sediment distribution in the Bengal Fan. I’ve also had the opportunity to contribute to the Sri Lankan delegation at the United Nations Sub-Commission meetings on the Limits of the Continental Shelf.

I have strong skills in Python, deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow, 3D image segmentation, cloud tools like Google Vertex AI, and scientific research methods. I enjoy tackling real-world problems with AI and machine learning, especially in healthcare applications.

Outside of research, I’m really interested in collaborative projects and exploring ways AI can bridge medicine, engineering, and data science to make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
